http://www.weather.gov/This weather website is a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It provides accurate local and national weather. On the main page there is an interactive map with weather warnings for counties in all 50 states. The left-hand side includes a search box that allows the user to find weather information for their local city or town. The website includes surface, temperature, and wind speed maps. In addition there is a tab on the top of the website to access past weather information. I like this website because NOAA provides accurate and dependable information and there are no ads distracting the user from the weather information.
National Weather Service: Forecast Maps
http://www.weather.gov/forecastmapsThis is page within the weather.gov website and includes various short and long-term forecast maps. Some of these include surface maps, temperature maps, short and long rang forecasts, wind speed and direction, chance of precipitation, and sky cover. I like the surface map on this site because it has a high resolution, shows all the fronts, and outlines where precipitation events are occurring.
National Weather Service: Local Forecast
forecast.weather.govThis is the local weather forecast section of weather.gov. The link above goes to Eau Claire which derives its weather from the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport. The website gives current conditions, an extended night and day forecast, and a detailed forecast. I like this site because it gives the weather information in different levels of detail.
Accuweather
https://www.accuweather.com/Accuweather is a good site to access local weather information. It gives a concise and accurate summary of current weather conditions and the future forecast. There are also aesthetically pleasing forecast maps of temperature, precipitation, and wind speed. This website also has doppler radar for several regions in Wisconsin. I like this site because I can get the current forecast quickly and easily. The forecast maps are also simple and easy to decipher.
Accuweather: Forecast Maps

Like stated above, accuweather has a variety of forecast maps that are colored nicely and easy to read. I like these maps because they have a nice color scheme and can be easily deciphered by someone without a background in weather.
Intellicast: The Authority in Expert Weather
http://www.intellicast.com/This website is useful for finding maps of weather phenomena. Links to almost all of the their weather maps are on the home page for easy navigation. The bottom of the page also includes the current surface map if one wants a brief look at the weather. I find the satellite images on this website good in quality and easy to navigate to as well. There is also an outdoors tab that has weather predictions for a variety of activities from golfing to gardening. I like this site because it is convenient and has good satellite information.
Intellicast: Satellite Imagery

The website has four satellite images: infrared, visible, water vapor, and weather satellite imagery. I personally like the water vapor imagery because one can locate where the moisture is and thus where precipitation events are likely to occur.
NOAA Satellite Information
http://www.goes.noaa.gov/index.htmlThe NOAA website has a good collection of satellite imagery that can be viewed as infrared, visible, or water vapor. There are many different regions one can view including the contiguous U.S., Alaska, Guam, and Hawaii. The page has links posted that make navigation easier for the user. I like this website because I can easily look at several different regions of the United States.

https://earth.nullschool.net/This is probably my favorite website out of all the ones listed here. It is a globe that can show different conditions including winds and temperatures. In the left-hand corner is the word earth. Click on this and then the options pops up. Under height one can change the height of the observations to get winds from the surface to the jet stream. Using the mouse one can rotate the globe to see around the world. I like this website because it's interactive, shows real-time weather values, and it's extremely fun to play with.
