Getting a Bit Chilly

Current Conditions

Temperature: 17 °F
Dew Point: 10 °F
Winds: SW at 7 mph
Pressure: 1017.9 mb
Visibility: 10 miles

The weather today was uneventful. This morning the temperature was 7 °F with winds SW at 6 mph and sunny, clear skies. Things didn't change much except the temperature in the afternoon. The temperature rose to 21 °F with winds W at 8 mph. Skies stayed clear the entire day and winds were minimal with a few gusts here and there.

In the northeast, residents are getting hit with yet another nor'easter. For New Jersey this is the second winter storm to hit within one week. The snow accumulations are insane! In figure 1 precipitation values for the day are listed. The heavy amounts of snow that the east coast is getting are quite apparent.
Figure 1. Precipitation amounts for the United States.
Hopefully the east coast catches a break next week!

Previous Prediction

Yesterday's prediction was correct, the high pressure system kept the skies clear and the temperature low.

Prediction

I predict that temperatures will be slightly higher than today with clear skies due to the high pressure system (figure 2).
