Clear and a Little Cool

Today was calm and clear. There were no clouds this morning and the sky stayed clear the rest of the day. The temperature rose steadily after 9:00 AM this morning and peaked at the current temperature of 55 °F (figure 1).

 Winds have been calm except for a couple of hours of gusts that came out of the north. The barometric pressure has also risen today which can be attributed to the high pressure dome shown in figure 2.

The high pressure dome has left the Midwest with some cooler weather from the continental polar air mass but clear skies. The northeastern United States is experiencing some rain from a low pressure system as is the western coast, but nothing that is causing any damage.

Previous Prediction

Yesterday's prediction was correct: clear skies and cooler temperatures.

Prediction

As the high pressure dome continues to move south, expect warmer temperatures tomorrow with continued clear skies.
