Today had an interesting start to say the least. Around 7:00 AM there was a small snow event with some wind gusts up to 30 mph! Needless to say I was a bit surprised! Then the snow stopped a half hour later and the skies cleared up. That doesn't mean the winds stopped though. Wind gusts peaked at around 40 mph as shown in figure 1.

The strong winds can also be seen in the wind map in figure 2.

The wind map also highlights the northwest winds Wisconsin is experiencing that are also denoted in figure 1. In other parts of the country, severe storms and rain are prominent (figure 3).

The northern part of California is experiencing heavy rains and recently a 5.3 magnitude earthquake. The southern U.S. is experiencing some heavy rains yet again that could lead to some floods later this weekend. As for Wisconsin, it looks like the high pressure system will keep skies clear for the next couple of days.
Previous Prediction
I predicted the temperature correctly but skies were much clearer today except for the short snow storm this morning.
Prediction
Tomorrow the high pressure system should ensure cold temperatures much like today and some partly cloudy skies.
