Bundle Up!

Current Conditions

Temperature: 0 degrees, feels like -12 degrees
Humidity: 57%
Winds: W 6 mph
Pressure: 1030.7 mb
Visibility: 10.0 miles

This morning I woke up to a bit of snow, probably from earlier in the evening yesterday.  Today was definitely colder today and the high pressure front moved in, so I was correct in my previous forecast.  The high pressure front also gave us deceiving clear and sunny skies while the temperature stayed in the negatives due to the wind chill.

The temperature this morning was -5 and felt like -24 with the wind chill! Winds were out of the west at 13 mph, and the direction of the winds did not change over the course of the day.  It was clear and sunny all day without a cloud in the sky.  The wind gusts varied and never consistently blew.  The following map shows the wind chill values for the United States, and these values mirror the location of the high pressure front moving in from Canada.
Figure 1. Wind chill map of the United States. The values reflect the location of the high pressure front moving in from Canada.
For tomorrow, I predict that the weather will be mostly the same, perhaps a bit warmer due to the bulk of the high pressure front moving away from Wisconsin.  The next map below is a surface map of the U.S. showing the high pressure front still present.
Figure 2. This current surface map shows high and low pressure systems, including the high pressure system in the Midwest.
