The Cold Continues
Current Conditions
Temperature: 6 degreesHumidity: 48%
Winds: SW 4 mph
Pressure: 1029.5 mb
Visibility: 10 miles
At 8:00 AM this morning skies were clear with 0% cloud cover and sunny. The temperature was -9 degrees Fahrenheit with no winds and 69% humidity. Over the course of the day the temperature did climb a bit higher than yesterday, so my prediction from yesterday was correct.
As the day progressed skies stayed mostly clear, however around 12:00 PM today there were some wispy clouds appearing in the sky, probably accounting for around 20% cloud cover. The temperature had also risen to a toasty 4 degrees with winds SW at 5 mph. By the evening the cloud cover had increased, and around 5:30 PM light snow flurries were occurring.
For tomorrow I predict that the snow will continue based on the low pressure system heading into the state. Figure 1 below is a current surface map of the weather conditions in the United States showing the low pressure front.
