Let it Snow!

Current Conditions

Temperature: 18 degrees, feels like 7 degrees
Humidity: 48%
Winds: N 9 mph
Pressure: 1010.5 mb
Visibility: 7 miles

Around 8:00 AM today the sky was completely overcast and a light snow was coming down.  The temperature was 12 degrees with winds out of the northeast at 5 mph.  As the day progressed the snow came down harder, reaching a peak around 10:00 AM.

Figure 1. View from the geography lab as the snow was coming down.
At 12:00 PM it was still snowing, but quite a bit lighter compared to earlier.  The temperature had also risen to a whopping 22 degrees!  The snow picked up again mid-afternoon but stopped around 5:00 PM.  The snow was a result of a low pressure front that came in from the northeast through Minnesota.

My previous forecast was correct, the low pressure front did come and there was snow and warmer temperatures as a result.  This low front is still in the area, which could cause some light flurries later this evening.

For tomorrow, I predict that  temperatures will continue to stay warm due to the low pressure front staying in the Midwest.  There could also be a chance for snow showers tomorrow.  With temperatures in the 20s, I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!
